Tectonic movements trace the paths on Earth where drifting magma becomes a destination. At one end of our world, in Iceland, plates pull apart at a leisurely pace, allowing lava flow to spread gently over the land. Deep in Chile, subduction lifts mountains, releasing a force that transforms the landscape through intense eruptions and sheer peaks. Both places, in their contrast, bare the essence of the planet’s core: a balance between shock and calm, dispossession and materialization; a manifestation of the will of power that builds and destroys, where the meeting of complementary opposites shapes the Earth’s surface in a constant cycle of creation and renewal./
